The philosophy of a Preceptor or Guru is greater than Sadhasiva. Certain unpleasant events leading to anger can be protected by Guru, but there is no redemption for a person who instigates the anger of a Guru. The Guru has been mentioned as the next to be obligated after the mother and father. The preceptor is placed next in importance to the parents, our Vedas say “speak the truth, always practice righteousness, consider the mother, father and guru as your gods (gurudevo bhava).” Our mother feeds us with lover, father nourishes our body and guru enriches us with knowledge and good precepts. |
| |
A guru means one who enlightens us and removes ignorance. So any one who helps us to conquer our ignorance and feeds us with knowledge can be termed as a guru. |
| |
God does not give what the guru bestows, when god bestows he does so through the form of the guru. He is more loving than the mother. Even if you have wealth there is a chance of becoming poorer, even if you are supplied with plenty of food you become hungry after some time, there is always want and need, there is, but the great knowledge and wisdom bestowed upon you by a Guru never disappears. It is indestructible and permanent as per the Vedas. |

Lord Dhakshinamurthy is the treasury of all knowledge Vidya, the destroyer of diseases, He is the never-ending source of knowledge and help to humanity and to Him we pay our obeisance. |
